Ambler is a quirky time capsule,

just 78 miles southwest of Chicago.

Its last gallon of gas was pumped in 1999

after an impressive 66 year run.

Today the restored station looks just like it did in the

1940s, complete with vintage Coca-Cola bottles

and old cash register and a potbelly stove.

Visitors from around the world.

Now stop to take photos

and soak in the retro charm

of this historic route 66 landmark, proving

that some stories never run out of gas.
